Angry - I Blew It

DLP Week 4 had a quote from Georgia O'Keefe
"I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn't say any other way."

how true for me when I read the challenge bc I was a little frustrated. OK I was angry at a situation in my house.
so I took out my liquitex inks, a straw and I blew until I almost passed out.
I was angry, can you tell by looking at this closeup.
and here is the two page spread with the quote on one side.  thanks DLP Art2the5th gals
I intentionally used the reds and burgundys to reflect my feelings. great quote!

Just Notice

i started with a piece of muslin and words printed on my printer and from there a project began to develop. using liquitex inks (only have two for now) i made my own spray inks.  they are quinacridone magenta and iridescent bright gold.
and my Twinkling H20s for more shimmer.

and my Strathmore 140lb Visual Journal, musical washi tape, book text, sharpie marker and snippet of threads from the sprayed ink muslin.

Nathalie at Creative Jumpstart has really helped me move past blasé.

so its late and i played with my camera trying to capture the true color of my journal page. i think i finally achieved close to what it looks like except you can't really see the shimmer.

Just Notice

be observant
look up
listen
sounds of wonder
creation birthing
spring is upon us
listen
observe, listen, beauty

something was missing in the left bottom corner and i could not leave it alone, so added punched eggs with stamped words.

new beginnings
and
then
i called it finished.

Ink & Faces

Creative Jumpstart is so much fun, every day another new post of techniques and great artists from around the globe.  Today Marsh Valk had a great vid on cardboard.

my paper mache faces
painted my faces with Liquitex inks. quinacridone magenta is a little soupy

but as said in children's book "Goldilocks and The Three Bears"  Liquitex iridescent bright gold ink is just the right consistency for me.  love the glimmer too.

check out  Nathalie's site for more info if you want to join and have a great time learning techniques.
