One-der-wing

One-der-wing

just one-der-wing
what life will b-wing
sitting in the sun
reflecting on the day
what life will b-wing
catching glimpses of sunlight
filters in the rays to share
what life will b-wing
caught up in wireless motion
sharing little exploits, flitting all about
one-der-wing what life will b-wing.

BeFitting Room for Lady Di

is finally finished - front and back and has been mailed out on Saturday.
can't wait to see what she thinks of this one.
so much technique in this one too!

fabric paper with muslin and tissue paper, Queen of Diamonds playing card,
hand-made paper doll queen, sewing pattern curtain, lace valance, dress form made with cardstock, checkec black/white ribbon and a found disk.
i placed as the background sheet music "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" from the '60's to honor her calendar year of 61 when her granny Lucy passed away.
i made little tags from folders and placed them in her form skirt with brads. and encouraging "BE-fitting" words for di in the queens hands. i love the little "cobbler-style" sign hanging over her room made of found wire, beads and cardstock. i used Martha Stewart decorative glitter over the sheet music for glitz. the little crown is made with small seed beads and sequins.
i just love this page and the paper doll. it was fun playing and being stretched.

In The Beginning - The Greater Light

my second journal page for Catching Fireflies.
i am freeing myself from the fear i have had to just begin and try.
i actually used a Princess postcard and ship stamp on this page.
i love this pic of the sun setting behind the sailboat.
the color in the setting sun was magnificent that day.

i also used fibers and buttons and ribbons.
my journaling reads:
In the Beginning
Genesis 1
In the beginning God created...
And God said, "Let there be Light.."
God made two great lights,
the greater light to govern the day.

He Provides Light

Jesus - My Lampstand

i am being challenged to use fabric with paper to scrapbook a journal.
i chose my 5 cruise pics to make a journal for hubby as a gift if they turn out halfway decent.
i think this is one of my all-time favorite pics i have taken in the Caribbean.
Our first cruise took us to the port of St Kitts and while on the water front
i took this beautiful view of the quaint little village with the lampstand in prominent view.

i love

the smell of an opening magnolia bloom. hubby picked one and its on top of my frig. everytime i walk by the sweetest aroma whiffs my nose. it makes me feel fresh and clean. wonder why?

this pic is a reminder of a wonderful memory of a waterfall in the Caribbean Islands.
as you moved further into the rain forest the cooler the temp became,
slick rocks and glimmers of the sun crept through the thick growth.

Catching Fireflies #1

Be Present Be Real is sharing with a group of ladies Catching Fireflies. Here is my first scrapbook page layout. My fireflies turned out to be a wonderful electrical light show
in the night sky illuminating the clouds as i was getting off work. Thank you Creator.
i was so astonished that i pulled over, called my hubby and son to share the beautiful
show with them even though they could not see it.
The framed clouds are from my last Caribbean cruise taken at sea headed to St Thomas.

down the rabbit hole

is the name of "d's" dream house book. and so in keeping with that theme here is an extra page for her i made. when i went to Inspired i took a class with cheryl darrow of Tenseconds Studio. She is hilarious and a fantastic teacher. In her class she taught us how to use metal and rubbing plates. that is what the secret garden gate door is made of. "d" shared that her grandmother lucy used to let her help in making candies and that she was an avid gardener. down the rabbit hole reminds you of alice in wonderland. my room is called "lucy's secret garden room". i used a technique learned in paulette insall's class to make my rabbit and fabric folding to make the dogwood flower petals. I wrote the saying "i am bc she was" to honor who "d" has become in life bc of the investment her granny made in her as a child. go make a childhood dream come true.

i love

how God speaks to me everyday. this morning its raining, a fresh, soft, gentle rain with birds chirping in the background and the day feeling fresh and new - ready to begin with me again.
that's how God works. His mercies are new every morning. yesterday i purchased the book
The Secret Things of God - unlocking the treasures reserved for you by Henry Cloud. i'm reminded my treasures are not here but in Heaven - other fellow believers.

we received a distressing call last night. our oldest called saying - believe it or not - he was involved in another car accident with our taurus. while sitting stopped at a stop light he was hit in the rear end by a car moving at 35mph. this sent him into the car in front of him which sent that car into the car in front of them. when he called he was at the hospital being checked. oh my heart just took a major leap and God moved with me to take another leap of faith that He had my son in the palm of his hand. but for my hubby who was already exhausted it was more than nerve-racking. he headed down to the beach to check out our son, the car and the accident.
seems a bunch of hispanics hit our son. i'm afraid it may be the usual scenario - no license, no insurance, he couldn't speak but very little english. why do we as a country continue to allow this to happen? i wish they would just do away with any laws for our citizens too. what's the point of having laws if we are not going to enforce them? and then i am reminded God has laws that never change; no matter what we try to do, no matter what we try to change and bid with God on - He never changes - He is the same yesterday, today and forever.
Birthday ATC swap

whatever things are lovely think on these.

Window Of Life

Window Of Life

on the window sill
she built her nest.
it withstood the testings
of time, weather, trials,
joys, and accomplishments.

the fledgling grew into her own
and then before long an empty nest
was left behind.

i love

my life. i loved
working in the kitchen on dinner
dancing to the tune on my ipod
feeling the movement of the rhythm
and
listening to my feet shuffle on the floor.
something about the swishing brought laughter.

LATEST ART MIX
life is a wonderful journey with many twists and turns. this blue bird is not sad but full of expectations for what lies ahead in the new adventure-stretching.

my RR Dream Home page for one participant who has a daughter graduating from high school. Her room is called "Room To Grow". i purchased the winged heart from Inspired. I am very pleased with this page going to my friend.

when all is said and done, the time comes for the birdie to leave the nest to continue on her own journey. We refer to this as the "Empty Nest" but truly it is a stretching of wings for all involved. A wonderland of life. as you can see i used a tape measure for border, fabric and soft batting inside the nest. a clock face is the background.

Serendipity from the Bag Lady

I came back from Inspired with scheduled doc appts made by my wonderful hubby. I now have a concierge, personalized doc. It seems weird to have your doctor call you and check up on you and personally go over info with me. My ER visit revealed a spot on my left lung but no one ever mentioned it. When my doc called to review the results that was a little unsettling but he said it had not grown and was benign. Interesting. While at Inspired i used two different blow dryers and singed my hair - it fell out in clumps. Freaky!!

Without saying anything to my natureopathic when she tested me she mentioned a thyroid issue and stress. So gave me herbs for both. She doesn't use all the tests and data the formal doctors do but my doctor comments were on the mark with hers after the blood work tests. I found that so interesting. Started Vitamin D3. God is so good, He knows what we have need of.
Another serendipity moment today. I was finishing another deadline - IW altered book pages. The last page i worked on was my inspiring bag lady from Home Alone 2-New York. I mentioned never going by first impressions or you might miss your best friend. I used my plastic bag dove i made and a vellum bag of flower petals on the page. Later this evening guess what came on tv - Home Alone 2 - New York. I laughed with God all evening while watching that show.

I love when Mr Duncan gives Kevin the two turtle doves and tells him they represent friendship and love. He gives one to the bag lady and tells her he will never forget her. She is awesome.

Kevin's wisdom about her broken heart and continuing to love again was inspiring. I looked at the movie differently than the first time i saw it.

Trashy Clutch Trade

oh i wish you could see this in person. It is so soft. Melissa's purse is so professional. Every little detail is magnificent. The colors are wonderful and the little surprise fabric inside i absolutely love - pink, orange and a third one is combo of both.
