Leap Year Day 29

the year my son was born was a leap year.  i thought for sure he would be born on leap day but he came one day early right on time.  hubby and i enjoyed going to the beach last night and taking him to dinner. of course he just loves it when we bestow unexpected gifts on him.  he needed a wireless printer, poof like a request from a genie in the bottle, he had it.  his dad spoils him. i so love my hubby's father heart. he helps me understand God, The Father's heart more every day.
must get ready to head to doc appt and then return to post another cross for Lent.

Pocket Cross. Son's 24th Bday

kathryn's challenge is staying fresh in my heart everyday. i awaken with it moving me to begin my day. i've
created another soft pocket cross. of course its double-sided.

the other side of the cross. i love the fabrics of purple sewn together in lines to create change.

and all neatly folded up with the hanging yarn attached it sits in my three-tier tube.

today's devotion from 1 Corinthians 13:13 all about love.  we can have so many things but if we do not have love we have nothing. i want God to teach me to love unconditionally. thank you God for all my talents and gifts you have given to me but let me love no matter what.             and
Natasha challenged me to paint 'orange'. what was i thinking! i feel my heart is so vulnerable and raw after working in orange.

Happy Birthday my little man of 24 years.  May God bless you in your training and may you be a blessing to others.  Born at 6:35am on this most wonderful day 1988.

we found her

yesterday my son went over to help his friend lay a new roof. he decided to take his doggies with him, ellie being only 16 weeks old.  ellie became frightened and ran off into the woods. and the hunt and prayers began. my son called me asking me to pray for the puppy to be found.  he was frantic looking for her everywhere in the woods/swamp using black jack to sniff for her.  but to no avail, even my hubby jumped in his truck and went to search too. fast approaching dark others were now looking. we kept praying and believing he would find her.  he has said he would not come home without her. finally around 10pm he called to say she had ran out of the woods, was frightened again and ran back into the woods.  he sat, waited, his gf called her and finally she came running out of the dark and into the light, toward his truck.
she was wet, skiddish and hungry but so happy to be reunited with her family.  she's a very sweet little puppy. we are all so attached to this little girl. and what an answer to prayer. Thank You God!!!

day 5 crosses and lent
this stick cross has three upward branches. i placed the cross in the center of three lights. reminds me of Jesus and the two criminals hanging on the crosses. only one was the light of the world and exposes darkness even today. that was Jesus, The Son of God. i am so grateful to Him for giving me new life and bringing light into my dark world. A song came to my mind by Chris Tomlin - Here I AM To Worship. head over and read the lyrics. 'Light of the world, You stepped down into darkness, Opened my eyes, let me see'.   i love that!!

why grope in darkness when you can be opened to the Light of the World?
even ellie girl didn't want to sit in darkness when she could be in the light.
i also read more about Lent here

The Strong Wind of Delight

kathryn's challenge (click on cross takes you to kathryn's True North) still has me thinking everyday during Lent and creating crosses. i love today's scripture read in A Daybook of Grace Psalm 139:10 'I praise You bc i am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, i know that full well.'
some of my favorite scripture passage. i reflected on a few friends that passed away this year from their battle with cancer. i don't believe i ever saw donna without a smile on her face and a joy for children. she taught preschool at the church when our boys were toddlers. they absolutely loved her and her hubby.

God delights in you/me.  How might your life be different if you begin to see yourself as a delight to GOD? this cross was made from things out of my yard - pine needles, one small pine cone and branches fallen from the strong winds last night.  i wrapped the branches together with fabric from my stash. i love how laura hollick  uses fabric to wrap herself, trees out in the forest and create for her studio.

Day 3 Lent Making Crosses

a friend online was making crosses for soldiers and i never got around to making any. BUT kathryn challenged us to make crosses for lent.  here is my third day creation. a fold-n-your-pocket cross.

untied it can hang,  very soft enabling you to fold it. and did i

mention its reversible. strips of fabric sewn together in shades of purple.

You Me Give Shelter

kathryn challenged us during lent to make crosses, here are my second day crosses on my dream vision board.
Natasha, my writing coach, challenged me to create a NOW dream vision board. nothing seemed to come to me other than the color for the background.  then after reading kathryn's lent, act of grace blog post yesterday i awoke this morning and it all came together.  i love my dream vision board.  the door on the center kick plate reads 'shelter' and it opens with a clock inside the window and
reads 'today is the day i write my own story.'
i just noticed the face clock is on 6 o'clock and i created 6 dream desires. i came across this Rumi quote from "A Voice Through The Door"
"sometimes you hear a voice through the door calling you...
this turning toward what you deeply love saves you."

New Blogger Setup - journaling

since playing around with the new set up i have been getting spam through comments. what a pain! never mess with a good thing to begin with.
love this simple way to create a new journal. working on the blank pages to get texture and color.
