i found this very disturbing - if you eat fast food hamburger you are also eating ammonia mixed in with it. aren't we glad we have the FDA to protect us - NOT. wonder what else they are allowing and calling safe. Would you want your children and grandchildren eating ammonia?

Dove, people have been consuming rat poison for many years...found in artificial sweetner and the chemical cream milk products....they say there isn't enough in there to harm you...of yes there is...my stomach kills after using anyone of these products...so no wonder there is ammonia in hamburgers....we haven't eaten fast food except for "In & Out" burgers...I wonder????

I believe it's because they use it as part of their "cleaning" process to kill bacteria.
