Sox Doodling

SOX

one day i found myself doodling this little guy.
and then journaling all around him backwards.
very freeing indeed. lots of playful fun.

I had the most amazing conversation with my DIL. i just love her spunk and attitude. she has watched the movie "Fireproof" and mentioned she would like the workbook and a Bible.

So i went to the bookstore and bought them for her along with the cutest little cat book marker.
More than anything i want her to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
and our prayers are being answered. God began a fast in me, this is my third day without food.
He just killed that desire and i will follow His lead on this one as before.
the purpose: to pray for my son.
flirt
i call this little poem "flirt" but not sure why.
it went up her skirt,
it blew his toupee off.
it changed the landscape
on that day.
it blew the paper down
the street.
it chased my blues away.
the beginning of the wind.

Work Day

my first night back to work for the season.
more responsibility, less fun in mini golf.
more days to work. i've been promoted.
lol, not really, just smart business.
i've been reading about the One World Order and One World Religion.
this is so very interesting to see unfold through the Obama admin.
can you imagine the dollar would not be our monetary value anymore?
The Bible is playing out before my very eyes, something i thought
i had a lifetime to wait on. And now here it is.
Are you ready for Jesus' return?!

Where'd th' Day Go

here is a new technique i am playing with
- bubble wrap, ink pads and bleach.
i may try to perfect this for my last 15 one word pages.

close up of Diane's sea horse and crab page.

My hubby is off all this week from work - my day is not my own. I'm not complaining, just i had other plans. I did finally get to the library and bought books to rip up and alter. 8 books for three dollars. you can find some great books and magazines in the Friends of Library section.

Sign of the Times

Dream Home - St Croix - The Crab

The sign Diane was born under - Cancer

My art page for Dream Homes Round Robin to Diane. Her birth sign is Cancer. So her page is in the shape of a crab. The claws will fold down into the 8" page format we are working in. I guess its not cheating as long as it can fold in. Is it? She shared her favorite vacation experience was in St Croix. I could feel her excitement as she shared this wonderful story and told of the place where she stayed. I call this place The Birthing Room. Its where all her creative ideas dwell and where they are fulfilled. So much beauty and love in this room, full of new life and birthing of dreams. The oyster shell has birthed a beautiful pearl in Diane. Its an underwater world of adventure. We are glad you were born Diane.

LIFE CRISIS

I know every family has a crisis of some kind. And to be honest right now my heart is being ripped out BUT i know the Creator of the Universe and He has the final say in it all.

Thank you to all who have prayed for my oldest son finding a job. He has accepted a teacher assistant job with a Montessori school. The pay may not be much but the reward in developing and loving a child is beyond the pay. His dad and i went down to his home to bless him by taking him to grocery shop for good food to eat. While in Walmart I felt compelled to buy this book:

The Power of Your Words-How God Can Bless Your Life Through The Words You Speak.

What was even more amazing is that I had heard this preacher speaking the day before on tv. When i picked this book up i did not realize it was this same preacher. NOW GOD has my attention.

One quote from Dorothy Nevill says this and I find it worth pondering:

The real art of conversation is not only to say the right thing in the right place but to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment.

TO GOD be all glory and praise because HE knows everything. I will walk through rejoicing in HIS victory.

Lazy Daisy Stitch Doodle

Lazy Daisy Stitch

I found a site that does once a week prompts for doodling. So here is mine - penciled on, tulip paints, ripped up junk mail and sewing machine decorative stitch. This was fun, whipped together, getting my mind moving quickly without much thought. That's what I need for now.
unfortunately the paper i am doodling on has a flawed dark line running through the middle.

imperfection-ya gotta luv it

Hard Heart Rock

H-eart Rock

I enjoyed my dinner by the river with my hubby. We picked rocks instead of flowers. Here's my white rock but the scan doesn't reflect how white it is. I wish my heart was as pure and white as some of the sun-bleached rocks. I was reading this morning my daily Bible devotion and it hit me hard about the sin of omission as well as commission. The sin of not doing what God asked me to do AND the sin of doing what He has not asked me to do. My hardened heart needs a massage in LOVE.

Jesus once referred to the pharisees as white sepulchers on the outside - looking good, sounding righteous BUT on the inside he said their hearts were dark.

Inspired 09 AlphaB Inchies

INSPIRED ALPHABET INCHIES 2009
i was letter "D"

Inspired Alphabet inchies in my mailbox! what a wonderful surprise to see in my mailbox after spending the day picking up taxes. One good thing since my car went in for repair i was able to pickup a loaner - 09 enclave. Want your derriere warmed? It'll do that for you - how's that for a hot seat?!? Quite honestly a car is a car to me. As long as it's reliable - that's all that matters.

I should charge boys for picking them up since they are getting big returns. And man what's the deal - we're paying?!!! wonder what's the charge for a courier these days? lol. i'm tired, but need to begin making dinner for hubby. I did treat myself to a stop at Michael's which was on way home. Nothing really appealed to me. But i did enjoy looking at stuff i have no idea how to use. Better learn to use what i already have if you know what i mean.

The Glory of Passion

I decided to do another wing totally different from my first one. The wings are snap sewn onto a small butterfly. The wings move and can be detached. I chose the words "Special, Dream and Hope" for my journal words. I loved putting this one together.

Here it is with wings closed.

And here they are together. The wings are open on the butterfly.

loved listening to the pastor today speak about the glory of the Lord and our passion. The hero is in the house and we should give him all honor. yes and amen.

He spoke of when Uzziah died and Isaiah saw the Lord on His throne. It was hard economic times and the political climate was not great either but his eyes were not looking down or all around. Isaiah was looking up - his focus on target - watching the Lord in all His glory.

I want that passion - the passion that says no matter what i'm going on in the Lord. I know who my creator is, i know where my help comes from!! My son led worship even though he was feeling really bad. He has lost weight and believe me he was a rail already. Of course i cried during worship. There is something about being in worship that cleanses the soul and when you can really leave everything behind and worship the Creator its even better. Worship is all about HIM not us.

St Croix Adventure

Birthing Room

Here is my first unfinished page for the DreamHouse RR. It's going to Diane who shared she doesn't like sharp edges, is Cancer sign and remembers her fond visit to St Croix. This page began as canvas then added perfect pearls, 2 wire ribbons for waves, yarns, shells, tulle, painted fish, a button fish and Trees technique with the jelly fish. I really loved working on this page , which will eventually look like a crab, including claws with the oyster pearl and a sea horse.

Friday 13th - God's Day and Number

Birthing of A Pearl

This is part of a 3-D piece that will be added to a page on my rr dream house book. I love the mulberry bark inside the oyster shell. Sherry and i did the same class ions ago and she sent me the mulberry bark. i tend to hoard my stash forever. but this is a special piece and worth using the bark for.

Today my son works his first day at a new job. Friday the 13th is a day of blessing not cursing. I am so excited for him. Plus he is working on a song to be released in the church worship. He has persevered and God has blessed him.
God's Word grows more precious to me everyday. Relationships - communication, listening!

I'm reading in Numbers right now. When Baalim's donkey turns and talks to him that is hilarious. Why do you think the donkey saw the Angel of the Lord but Baalim didn't? I love the stories of pets saving their owners lives. God can use whatever, whomever, however He likes.

Baalim is asked to come meet a king who wants him to curse a people group. It so happens it is Israel. The first high place of Baal he observed the extent of the people. But the Word God gave him to speak was a blessing on Israel.
So the king took him to a different place where he could see only the outer border of all the people. But still God would only give Baalim Word of Blessings to speak.

In the 3rd place overlooking wasteland the king thinks surely he will get his way. This time Baalim did not seek to use sorcery. That's what the Word says. BUT set his face toward the wilderness RAISED his eyes and saw Israel encamped according to their tribes AND the Spirit of God came upon him. THEN his eyes saw so differently. I feel like Baalim, i remember when i only saw man's ways BUT now I see through the eyes of Jesus and everything looks different.

A song came to my remembrance from childhood:

every day with Jesus is sweeter than the day before,
every day with Jesus I love him more and more.
He's the one who keeps me and
He's the one i'm living for.
Every day with Jesus is sweeter than the day before.
Happy Friday 13th Blessings.

Water Fall

GOT WATER

Here is a postcard from the very first group in Va that I participated in trading postcards. This particular round i did not include my name but one member sent me a "thinking-of-you" card anyway. Wasn't that a sweet jesture.

With all the stimulus talk and the first bill behind us, now the omnibus passed with over 8000 earmarks and now another stimulus bill talk in the works I am pretty disgusted with our congress and President. I heard in the first stimulus bill 3 big banks, Bank of America, Citigroup and one other sent millions to Dubai, India and China instead of working to help homeowners refinance here. How's that for accountability?

Muzik - Are You On Time?

ARE YOU ON TIME? Expressionist

I so enjoy the stimulation from the art doodles of great artists.
Here is another art pic i created from a simple doodle.

I have pretty much rearranged and cleaned my art studio again.
I actually was able to get to my sewing maching to use it last night.
It really felt great. I didn't realize how much i missed playing with stitches and sewing.

I listened to a pastor last night giving a great word on how we are to be
"Prisoners of Hope". There are several things I continue to hope for,
which Hebrews calls substance of things not seen.

Where is your faith being challenged to continue to hope for?
God is never late but right on time.

Highs 80s

This has been a great weekend. Hubby surprised me with a romantic dinner at BoneFish. great restaurant. We enjoyed being outdoors, taking walks with our dog, riding the parkway and resting too.

This Monday it is in 80's here, just stopped in to my blog. I've been between the outdoors enjoying the sunshine and upstairs working on cleaning, and rearranging my studio area.
And took time out to walk my dog. what a beautiful, sunny day. thank you God for your creation

Manipulation - Yo Yo

YoYo - Jellyfish To Be

learning fabric manipulation this week.
i love yoyos and echo quilting.
Great idea for under-the-sea page i'm working on.
Reading through the Bible daily devotional continues to remind me it does matter what i speak and say with my tongue. Begin to believe only what God says about you. He has some awesome perspective on the topic.
Happy Weekend.

Thy Will Be Done

THY WILL BE DONE

still praying this prayer bc i don't know how to pray.

I continue to doodle among the famous artists. I love Modigliani. From one stroke I developed Her majesty. A simple drawing, little color pencil, a little glitz with fabric and i'm finished.

I keep going back to The Creative Life workbook. I love how when you look through God's eyes at his creation - you and me - His perspective is not like what we may see. He delights in us.
He created and formed us before we were in our mother's womb. You and I are creative instruments created in His image to be played. What kind of music are you hearing?

For we are God's workmanship created in Christ Jesus
to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Ephesians 2:10

Happy Birthday My Son

Happy, Happy Birthday My Middle Born Son. You breathed your first breath 11:00am.
What a joy and a delight you were. Full of laughter, a free-spirit and jest for life that continues to this day.

It has come and quickly passed. Twenty-three years of affection.
23 reminds me of the 23rd Psalms. He will lead me beside still water.
Life Is But A Vapor - here today and gone tomorrow.

Our Birth Right

Close Up - Our Birthright
or
The Womb became a Tomb

I am working on a Dream House round robin with a wonderful group of artists. My dream house is more about what makes each one of us a home from the inside out. My cover began with the painted canvas of yellow and black. From there i added the spoon technique Noel shared with us on FAT Technique week. My Native American Creative Mother carries seeds in her womb. She also stands as a symbol of the opposite spirit that has aborted children in our country.
There are three babies - two in the womb and one has been birthed. I love Anne Geddes photography. So i created my own womb in a flower with the babies enclosed in the petals. The maiden's wings have a butterfly enclosed for new birth and transformation and an angel holding her heart that reads "Hug Me." So many children just want to be loved, cuddled, hugged and encouraged; so many orphans. They want an opportunity for their dreams, desires, ideas and words to be expressed.
She wears a beer cap halo. It is very significant in my life right now. Kind of an oxymoron I think - a tarnished, imperfect halo placed on her head by mankind. Her clothes are covered in hands. More symbolism. You know the saying, "The Hands that rock the cradle rules the world" or something like that.
Three white keys represent my three sons. They remain white bc one doesn't really know what's written on them or what doors they might open. As I was working on this cover so many feelings flooded my senses.
It represents ideas, thoughts, creativity, inventions and so much the world will miss out on bc we chose to abort our future generations - a womb became a tomb.

FAT Kitchen Shrine

Strawberries and Cream
i finished this project by the skin of my teeth.

Well my hubby says we need to take his truck out, drive it around and see if we can finish off all our vehicles. But that is not funny. In one week my Taurus was hit twice and now my son's scion was hit tonight be a NC driver watching his GPS instead of the road. My son is heartbroken bc he paid for this car and it was new. I'm thankful his girlfriend and he are safe.

The last two weeks have been very trying. And the cars are just the tip of the iceberg. Father God thank you for keeping my family safe.

Its been raining, then turned to sleet and snow, now the winds are whipping around like wild child moving everywhere.
